CREATING COVX-BODIES
CovX-Bodies are created by covalently joining a pharmacophore via proprietary linkers to the binding site of a specially designed antibody; effectively reprogramming the antibody. The result is a new class of chemical entities that is formed where each component contributes desirable traits to the intact CovX-Body. We have successfully demonstrated the utility of our technology by enhancing the pharmacokinetic and pharmacodynamic profiles of peptides and small molecules across several disease areas.

Step 1
A programming agent (comprised
of a
peptide incorporating a specific
CovX
linker) is synthesized. The linker
is
designed to be recognized and
covalently bound only by the active
binding site of
the antibody. |
|
Step 2
In a well-controlled reaction,
a
programming agent is combined
with CovX’s unique antibody. |
|
Step 3
The result is a well-characterized,
bivalent CovX-Body that possesses the
biologic actions of the peptide and
the extended half-life of the antibody.

One Antibody > Multiple Products
Designed for human compatibility, all CovX-Bodies incorporate the same antibody.
The unique interaction of the CovX antibody and tethers allows the creation of multiple CovX-Bodies using a single “scaffold.” This approach provides rapid development, reduced costs, and a defined regulatory
path.
CovX’s technology provides tunable and predictable increases to a peptide’s half-life.
Furthermore, CovX-Bodies enhance a peptides therapeutic potential beyond extending
half-lives; CovX-Bodies exhibit true bivalency which enhances potency and block
protein-protein interactions.
